Red Gate Farm is delighted to offer another clinic opportunity with 5* Event rider Hannah Sue Burnett. She will be at the farm in the afternoon and evening of Thursday, Juy 5th. This clinic was very popular last year and will fill up fast, so if you are interested, sign up to reserve your spot right away!
Hannah Sue has been in the top placings at the upper levels for the last several years, both at the national and international level.
With Hannah Sue’s impressive resume comes a teaching style that is accessible to riders of all levels and experience. Take advantage of this special opportunity to train with a top event rider at a top facility in the heart of horse country in Bluemont, Virginia.
Dressage lessons will take place in the indoor arena on Nike Air footing with polymer coated sand, or in outdoor dressage ring on grass.
Jump lessons will be in the outdoor arena on Euro-Felt footing with a show jumping course.
Auditors are welcome! The indoor boasts a climate-controlled viewing area, and the outdoor has a large grandstand.
Dressage: $150 (30 minute private)
Jump: $150 (45 minute group), XC might be possible if enough interest

Maestro is a straight-forward Thoroughbred that has shown in hunters, jumpers, and eventing. He is privately owned, but occasionally available for lessons for select students, beginners preferred.

Contact us if you’d like to attend our mounted fox hunting clinic Sunday, Feb. 25, 3:30-5:30, followed by an introductory fox hunt with the Loudoun Hunt on Sat., March 3. Must be an intermediate rider. We will cover EVERYTHING (tack, attire, etiquette, history, hunt staff and roles, expectations of horse/rider, etc.). Includes talks by master and huntsman, and a kennel tour.
$50 reduced cap fee(adults) for the hunt on March 3, plus $150 extra fee if you need a horse for the fox hunt. Our staff will ride with you on the hunt to assist and explain. Trailer spots limited!
$75 Includes horse and guide, wine/beverages/snacks
Ride in a group through the cornfields. One of our instructors will guide the group. If we get a large group, we might split into 2 groups by riding level.
$25 / 2 hours
Provided by Clarke equine in conjunction with our staff, we will be seeing a live demonstration of the “lameness locator” on one of our horses. Also will be discussing what every horse owner should know (routine care: worming/vaccines/Coggins/dentist/farrier) as well as common ailments (Colic, abcess, wound care, fever, tying up) and when to call the vet! Refreshments served. If you work with horses, lease a horse, dream of owning a horse, or are lucky enough to own one now, you should see this presentation. At the end, wrapping of a foot and leg demo.

eventing. She is privately owned and leased.
During her career, Mary has successfully trained and competed a number of horses at the FEI Level. In addition, Mary’s European training has led to multiple awards and accomplishments, including:
Wins at the prestigious Grand Prix at Devon and Festival of Champions
USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals
U.S. Equestrian Team (USET) Long List
USDF Certified National Level Instructor and Trainer
VADA Horse of the Year Championships at FEI, Training, Third and Fourth
Mary has shared her extensive knowledge by helping develop future instructors through USDF workshops and seminars and offering clinics throughout the United States. In addition, she has spent many years teaching the U.S. Pony Club and has assisted three riders to earn their “A” rating. Mary has been featured in national magazines, including Dressage Today, USDF Connection, Dressage and CT and Practical Horseman, as well as appeared on several television programs, such as “Living with Animals,” a PBS special about advanced dressage.
